Hannah’s journey began in engineering. She graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering in just three and a half years, then went on to work as an engineer for Empire Cat, where she sharpened her analytical rigor, systems thinking, and operational discipline.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Hannah left corporate engineering to build three construction companies, gaining firsthand experience in development, execution risk, capital constraints, and the realities faced by operators in the field. That operator-level insight became the foundation for her next chapter: commercial real estate finance.
She went on to launch her own commercial real estate mortgage brokerage and private lending firm, structuring and placing capital across asset classes nationwide. She earned her real estate license at 18 and began her career selling commercial real estate before acquiring assets of her own. Hannah graduated summa cum laude from engineering school as a Merit Based Scholar and went on to work as an Industrial Engineering Manager at Empire-Cat, later founding and scaling multiple construction companies in Arizona. She subsequently launched a commercial real estate brokerage, The Firm, and a private lending company, deploying her own capital and gaining firsthand experience as a lender. Ultimately, her passion for the capital markets led her to found HB Capital to solve inefficiencies in commercial real estate debt and equity placement through a more strategic, transparent, and aligned advisory approach. Based in Los Angeles, Alex brings 25 years of CRE finance experience and has originated over $3 billion in transactions across all asset classes. His background spans time as an investor, lender, and mortgage banker. His experience involves working closely with CMBS, Life Insurance, Banks, Credit Unions and private funds. He is an active member with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and currently holds a CA Brokers license.
Tomer Greenfeld grew up on Israel’s southern coast before moving to the U.S. in the early 1990s. He developed an entrepreneurial mindset early, contributing to two startups that were successfully acquired during his 20s.
Most recently, he served as Chief Strategy Officer at Kinfolk Home Loans in Phoenix, where he spent four years leading mortgage origination efforts and building internal systems, including CRM solutions, data infrastructure, and strategic partnerships.

James supports HB Capital’s capital markets and advisory team through underwriting, financial modeling, and in-depth market research across a broad range of commercial real estate transactions. He graduated from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business in December 2025 with a degree in Finance, where he developed a strong foundation in investment analysis, valuation, portfolio management, and equity strategy.
With hands-on experience in financial modeling and transaction analysis, James provides analytical support that helps evaluate opportunities, assess risk, and structure tailored capital solutions. His disciplined approach to underwriting and research contributes to informed decision-making and execution across the firm’s financing assignments.
John Paul Laverde is a hospitality executive with over 25 years of experience, 23 of which were spent with the world-renowned Nobu Restaurant Group, serving as General Manager across Nobu’s restaurant operations and Food & Beverage Director within Nobu Hotels, with additional roles as Training Manager and Assistant General Manager.
Following Nobu, John Paul continued leading top-tier concepts as Director of Operations for Plus Plus Group (Madame Ushi & Gala Aspen), General Manager of Andrés Carne de Res Miami, and General Manager of Catch Scottsdale.
Today, he brings that same operational excellence and high-touch leadership to HB Capital, where his background in hospitality, people management, and client experience translates seamlessly into the world of commercial real estate.
Brandon joins HB Capital as Director of Talent Acquisition, bringing over 8 years of experience spanning both corporate recruitment and agency executive search. Prior to joining HB Capital, he served as the founding Head of Talent Acquisition for a $1.5B residential development and land company, was a strategic partner at a startup search firm, and held roles across global recruitment and corporate talent acquisition. In these roles, Brandon has built scalable talent functions from the ground-up, implemented process and strategy, led full-cycle recruitment, and improved employer branding.
A seasoned mortgage and commercial finance professional, Robert brings a unique background spanning both healthcare and financial services. After beginning his career in healthcare, he transitioned into mortgage banking before moving into independent brokerage, where he specializes in commercial real estate and investment property financing.
Robert has successfully closed thousands of loans totaling tens of millions in volume. His expertise combines market knowledge, creative loan structuring, and a client-first approach to delivering tailored capital solutions.
